Our mission
ShiftNG exists to build an organized, informed, and engaged citizenry that drives accountability, transparency, and responsible governance across Nigeria. We empower citizens with credible data, technology, and collaborative civic tools to monitor public projects, track government performance, promote financial transparency, and strengthen democratic participation beyond election cycles.
As a strictly non-partisan, non-tribal, and non-religious civic platform, ShiftNG neither endorses nor fields political candidates. Instead, we strengthen democracy by making public information accessible, encouraging constructive citizen participation, and making accountability a continuous national culture rather than an occasional political event.
Our vision
To become Africa's leading citizen-powered civic intelligence platform, where every public project is visible, every public office is accountable, every election is transparently monitored, and every citizen has the tools to actively participate in shaping a more just, prosperous, and democratic society.
How it works
- Anyone can read. You can browse offices, projects, news and courses without an account.
- Sign in to take part. With a free account you can flag content that breaks the rules.
- Learn, then report. After passing the required Academy courses you can post reports and photos on public projects, reply to others, and confirm what is still the case.
- Moderated. Reports can be flagged by anyone signed in, and moderators remove what breaks the rules.
Who we are
ShiftNG is built in Nigeria for Nigerians. The organisation behind it is in the process of registering in Nigeria. ShiftNG is not affiliated with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), any government body or any political party.
